About Jacqueline Childress

Jacqueline “Jackie” Childress believes every story begins with a spark—a moment of wonder, a memory, or a question waiting to unfold. She writes picture books that celebrate imagination, quiet courage, and the small, meaningful moments woven through everyday life.

Her debut picture book, When Jackie Grows Up, grew from her desire to help children see the beauty in who they already are and the possibilities ahead of them. Jacqueline writes with the heart of someone who remembers childhood vividly and tenderly, inviting young readers to dream, explore, and discover their own magic.

When she isn’t writing, Jacqueline enjoys walking her dog Archie, observing tiny marvels in her backyard, and jotting ideas in her beloved “Idea Book.” She is currently working on several new stories—including bilingual editions—so there is much more to come from her Story Garden.
